Where are my friends?
When you decide to be a stay-at-home mom, there are alot of
changes coming your way. One may have to do with your friends.
Some may not understand why you are doing this. After all, you have
a good steady paycheck, secure family life, and you seemed to
happy to them.

Most people act on the negative side of life. They could point out
every reason why you might fail if you start your own business. Of
course they can, they are stuck in their comfort zone. Since you are
climbing out of yours-should I say, jumping out of yours!? That may
rub them the wrong way. Don't be surprised if they back away for a
bit. And dont let that discourage you either be no means! They will
come around eventually, after they see that you are truly happy now
and doing this for yourself and your family.

You may come across a little stab of jealously also. Especially when
you start getting bigger and more successful. A true friend, even one
that may  let a little bit of that green ugly monster out, will stand
behind you and pat you on the back for encouragement.

As a work-at-home mom, I've encountered many situations in
my every day work load and family load. We busy moms
sometimes find ourselves taking on too much just to try to
make everyone happy. There a time when we just have to let
up on doing it all ourselves and ask for help. You'd be
surprised at how much help you'll get from your family.
Find ways to accommidate your work to your kids.

take it outside and watch while the kids are playing in the
yard.
Setting up an "office" next to yours can help a lot. Put play
office supplies and markers and let them pretend to be a work
at home mom-or dad!
Ask and you shall receive!
Have a family meeting and ask for advice from them. Colleen

advice.
I am lucky to have a child who understands and
respects my work time. She knows that we are able to
spend so much more quality time together by me being at
home. We tend to trade off on time a lot. If she lets me
have 2 or 3 hours to do work, then I can take her to the
park or pool for an hour or so. It's an arrangement that
we both love.
It's really not as hard as you think. You have to remember,
you're the boss and you have to say 'no' to your work
sometimes and remember why you wanted to stay at home in
the first place!
